Today we’d like to introduce you to Adventures With C3.
Hi Adventures with C3, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A few years ago, our family made a big move from Columbia, MO to Kansas City. What we didn’t realize at the time was that this change would spark something much bigger than just a new address.
With work and our boys’ soccer still calling us back to Columbia regularly, we found ourselves on the road… a lot. At first, it was all fast food and quick pit stops. But we hated the feeling of just getting from point A to point B. We started craving more. More connection. More discovery. More moments that actually felt like life.
Not only were we constantly traveling, but Kansas City had changed a lot since Chantel last lived there. So much so that it felt like we were rediscovering it all over again. And with three curious kids in tow, we started searching for places that felt like little treasures: a park with space to run, a quirky roadside attraction, a local eatery with something new to try. The more we talked to other parents, the more we realized they were searching for the same things.
Right before the world shut down in 2020, we rebranded and launched our family travel YouTube channel, hoping to share the joy we were finding in these small, meaningful adventures. We had no idea what was coming just three short months later. When even parks closed, we didn’t stop. We got creative. We stayed close. And we started telling the story of what it meant to make the most of the moment, even when things felt uncertain.
Food trucks started showing up in our neighborhood and gave us the perfect reminder: there’s always something worth celebrating. Always someone worth supporting. Always a memory waiting to be made… right where you are!
Today, we’re here to help you discover places that bring you closer, experiences that light your kids’ eyes up, and real-life tips that make traveling as a family feel doable, fun, and full of purpose.
We’re not just exploring new places… we’re building a life full of memories. And we’d love for you to come along!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path has not always been smooth but we’ve learned that some of the best stories come from the bumps along the way.
Like most families, we’ve faced our share of challenges. Health issues, income fluctuations, and the constant juggle of family life have all tested our flexibility. As our boys have grown, two of them are now teenagers, our approach to travel and connection has had to grow with them. What worked when they were little doesn’t always work now, so we’re constantly learning how to meet them where they are while still creating meaningful experiences.
We’ve also discovered that traveling during the off-season (which we often prefer) can be a double-edged sword. It’s quieter and less crowded, but it also means some seasonal attractions are closed or not the same as when it is their peak season. That’s pushed us to get creative, look beyond the obvious stops, and focus on the moments and memories rather than the perfect itinerary.
In the end, every challenge has helped shape our perspective and our purpose. It’s not always smooth, but it’s always worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our work centers around family travel but more than that, it’s about inspiring connection. We use our adventures to help families discover not just new places, but new ways to engage with one another and with the world around them.
We specialize in showcasing destinations through a family lens: highlighting the spots that spark curiosity, create space for fun, and make lasting memories. Our content is designed to be evergreen—meaning it’s just as helpful a year from now as it is today. We focus on the places we visit, with a little of our own story sprinkled in, to help others decide if it’s the right fit for their family.
We’re most proud of the impact our work has had on other families: helping them break out of routine, find joy in the everyday, and see travel as something meaningful and doable…no matter their season of life.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to us? Our faith, family, and the time we get to spend together…experiencing new things and truly living life.
We believe life is about more than just following the same routine week after week. It’s easy to fall into patterns that leave little room for joy, discovery, or connection. While we do have a routine we also know that what really matters to us are the memories we create, the bonds we strengthen, and the impact we make in the lives of others along the way.
Whether it’s a simple day trip, a shared meal, or a meaningful conversation…those are the moments that build a life. That’s what we want more of, and that’s what we hope to inspire in others too.
