Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a love for photography. I even took some college classes. I started getting paid for my photography in 2009. It was part time and I loved it!
My son passed away in Dec 2012. His Army nickname was “Switch” and after he died, my “Focus” in life changed. You never know the value of a photo until the person IN the photo is gone and that is all you have left.
In January of 2014, Switch Focus Studios was started and I dove FULLtime into photography!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a process! Customer satisfaction has always been my #1 goal. I attended workshops to better my craft and tried to design a positive experience for my clients who trusted me with their special moments and events!
The biggest struggle has always been my own criticism of my work. I strive to be the BEST version of myself possible in all areas of my life!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I used to focus on anything and everything photography related.
Now I stick to Family, Newborn and Senior photography!
As long as my clients are happy, that makes me happy. I love being chosen by clients to capture their precious moments in life.
It’s also nice when my clients get published in magazines or featured on Social media too!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I’m happy with my current level of business. I’ve created a great work/life balance and have many repeat clients that I cherish and adore!
I gave up photographing weddings so I could spend more time with my family!
Family is everything to me and I think my clients know how much I love my job and how much I appreciate them!
