Today we’d like to introduce you to BBE Spazz.
Hi BBE, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is BBE Spazz I’m a rapper and audio engineer from Kansas City, Missouri, and my story starts in the kind of struggle most people only hear about. I never had a home growing up—my earliest memories are from shelters, moving from place to place with my three siblings and a mother battling addiction. There was no stability, no safety net—just a radio, and the music that kept me alive. That’s where it started. At 13, while still in a shelter, I picked up the pen and started writing. Music wasn’t just a passion—it was survival.
When I was left behind in a shelter at 13, I knew I had to make a choice. I ran. I stayed with friends, kept my focus, and chased music like it was the only thing keeping me breathing—because it was. Even with everything stacked against me, I finished high school early and earned an associate degree in music. I’ve always carried more than most on my shoulders, but I never let it crush me. If anything, it made me stronger, sharper, and more determined.
People who know me know that I’ve been through it all and never let it break me. I use my past as fuel. It’s what pushes me to go harder, to be better, and to build the life I was never given. Right now, I’m working on becoming one of the biggest artists in the world. My upcoming album, Welcome To Da 9, is the beginning of that journey—it’s raw, real, and rooted in everything I’ve lived. I’ve always been the type to outwork everyone and master whatever I put my mind to.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Trying to help my friends make it as far as me has always been a struggle for me. And or pushing people to be the best they can. In the music industry you can’t do anything alone and I’ve never really had a solid team. People don’t want to give flowers to true artists when they are due. Kansas City isn’t known for being a Major Music City. With that being said there isn’t any “Rap” Money here.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an Audio Engineer. Graduate from Metropolitan Community College with my Associate Arts In Music In 2021 helps me understand music and be apart of people’s journey finding they best versions of themselves musically.
How do you think about happiness?
My son makes me happy. In this dark world he’s been the main light in my life keeping me going. Music helped me get through life, and somewhere along the way, it started making me happy too. At first, you may use music to process pain or escape reality—it’s therapeutic. But over time, as you become more in tune with the sounds, lyrics, or even your own creations, that connection deepens. You don’t just survive through it—you start to feel better because of it. That’s kind of what happened with me.
