Inspiring Conversations with Jackelyn Aguilera of Pop of Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackelyn Aguilera.

Hi Jackelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our journey into event decorating began as a simple favor for family and friends. For years, we found ourselves creating balloon arrangements for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. What started as a hobby quickly became something we truly enjoyed. We loved seeing the smiles our work brought to people and realizing how much of an impact our creativity had on their celebrations.

Over time, the more we did it, the more we realized this wasn’t just a side project, it was a passion. What started as a way to make an event more memorable for those we loved evolved into a deep desire to share our talent with the wider world. It was a mix of excitement and realization: we didn’t just want to do this occasionally; we wanted to build a business around it.

After a lot of prayer, thought, discussion, and even a little bit of fear, we decided to take the leap of faith. We turned our passion into a professional pursuit, and that’s how this Event Planning/Balloon decorating business was born. It hasn’t been an easy road, but every event, every client, and every balloon arrangement reminds us why we took that leap of faith. We’re so grateful to do what we love every day, and it’s been amazing to see our dream turn into a thriving business! All glory to God!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest obstacles we faced was managing the balance of being first-time moms while launching a business. Balancing the demands of being new parents while growing the business required a lot of sacrifice—long nights, sleepless moments, and a constant juggling act.

The financial commitment was especially intimidating. We were putting money into inventory, equipment, marketing, and all the things necessary to get started, but we couldn’t know for sure if those investments would pay off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our families have been our biggest cheerleaders. They’ve not only helped spread the word about our business, but they’ve also been there for us emotionally, offering prayers and faith when things got tough. They believed in us from the start, and that faith really carried us through the hardest moments.

A huge part of our success also goes to Jackelyn’s husband, who played a big role in building many of our props and backdrops. His dedication to bringing our ideas to life have been essential in helping us create the stunning decorations that our clients love.

This business is a true family effort, and we’re so grateful for each person who has been a part of it.
