Today we’d like to introduce you to Nala Asa Shakur (formerly Tyler Norman).
Hi Nala Asa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The first thing that got me into the whole natural thing was my hair. I had a really bad salon experience trying to bleach my hair and I knew if I were to get a relaxer I would never reach my long healthy hair goals. So I began searching how to grow long hair. I then discovered the natural hair community on YouTube and all across social media. I decided to go with it. I went natural in 2013. As I researched and watch plenty of tutorials on natural hair and natural products I started to implement them and see good results. It turned into a complete healthy kick as I leaned about natural skin care as well as eating healthier and working out. The whole summer 2014 I was so focused on pouring into myself and transitioning to as much of a natural lifestyle as I could. It was all a journey, an unlearning and relearning. For the next couple years I continued to have success growing my hair and achieving clear glowing skin using natural remedies and eating a healthier diet. I went to collage in 2016 and was surrounded my young entrepreneurs who looked like me. I grew up with a father who was a business owner and always instilled in me to either own an existing company or create your own. But being around people who were my age and doing it inspired me to start my business in the summer of 2017. Originally it was Tbaby Natural Lifestyles and my first products were all natural body butters and paintings. I dropped out of school in 2018 and had a deep calling to come back home. I resisted by I knew it was something I had to do to futile my dreams of art, travel, entrepreneurship and health. During this time of coming back home as diving deep into self education and self reflection I continued to learn what it means to be natural. More than the physically. I learned about energy; physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. And how balancing all these parts of us also is aligned with the elements earth, air, water, and fire. Aka nature. With the inner standing of life, energy, health, and self love I began making huge changes in my life to dive even deeper into a natural lifestyle. I was blogging all my experiences on my website as well as my podcast which begin in 2018 called #TTALK and eventually I turned my story into my first book Love Starts Here, that launched in 2020 during Covid. I continued to build my brand all across social media and my website promoting a natural lifestyle being that gateway to self love and attracting everything we truly desire in life. I even started hosting events in my city in collab with other holistic businesses to spread love and health to my people! I relaunched my book in 2023, self published under my business The All Natural and kept spreading my brand with more natural lifestyle content and my movement #naturalisthewaytoglow. In 2024 I finally expanded my business into more than just content, events, podcast, art, and books to actually creating my own natural products where I first began! I launched my own herbal tea line called The RoyalTEA Package l as well as my Herbal hair care line called The Crown Collection. Now in 2025 I continuously express my creativity, my voice and passion for love, truth, and health. Creating content, products, services, and events that align women with the power of plants all to align us with our true nature!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all, I’ began my business in 2017 when I was 19 years old. I had a huge vision but I expected things to grow in a linear path to success by time I was 20. I had no idea the time, dedication, and willpower it would take for me to still be standing strong today. Some struggles include lack of funding, everything came from my own pockets and some help from my parents. But being able to afford to start and keep a business has been a challenge. Everything cost money and when you focus of quality over quantity and want customers/clients to have the best top tier experiences with your brand, things can get expensive. Due to a low budget I’ve had to close my website and start entirely over multiple times. I feel as if I haven’t been able to grow as fast as I’ve wanted to without the funds to larger production and marketing tools. But I’m very grateful for the long road because it has taught me patience and that nothing solid and generational is built over night. Another struggle was writing my book, Hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done outside of giving birth at home! The book process was extremely long and there were so many blockages. Plus I had do research everything since I was self publishing. It’s been hard not to compare myself to others who have reached success yet having been as committed as me but I know my time is coming in perfect timing and the wait is just preparation.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The All Natural is a holistic lifestyle, beauty, and wellness brand dedicated to restoring the sacred feminine. Through our handcrafted, all-natural & organic products—ranging from herbal teas to hair and skincare—we help women reconnect with their divine nature using the power of plants.

I’m most proud of the deeper meaning and work behind my brand. It’s not just about selling products it’s about returning to self, God, Nature, and the village. I teach others how to activate in inner glow from within that shines through and attracts love in all its forms. It’s more than a product it’s a lifestyle and a movement #naturalisthewaytoglow
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have my own book Love Starts Here; Finding Love Within for a Life Never Without that I read about once a year. It’s kind of like my future and past self teaching my present self through my own experiences. I also love the Autobiography of Assata Shakur and as well as many herb books. I also have my podcast #TTALK that is a beautiful way for me to express and channel wisdom.
