Today we’d like to introduce you to Dk Diggz.
Hi Dk, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri at Truman Hospital. Growing up, I moved back and forth between Kansas City and Columbia. Around age six, I settled in Columbia with my mom, stepdad, and brothers and stayed there until I was 15.
During those years, I had a little crew — me, my friend Brittney, and Desiree. We used to write raps in a green composition notebook. I kept that book for years until my mom sold her house last year, and it got lost.
After that, my family moved us to Atlanta for a few years. Me and my brother even went to the same school Rocco Dash went to as a kid. I ended up getting homesick and came back to Missouri for about six months — and during that time, I got pregnant with my son. Once my mom found out, I moved back to Atlanta, had my son, and then eventually came back to Kansas City when he was about four months old. I’ve been back ever since
I got my GED at Penn Valley in KC and became a CNA, mainly working in hospice. That’s where a lot of my empathy comes from.
Shortly after moving back home, I re-united with my spouse and became a stay-at-home mom. I had my youngest son during that time, but I started to lose my sense of independence depending solely on a man. I knew I needed something for myself. That’s when I started diving into business and music more seriously.
I built a successful hair extension business and was doing well financially, but it wasn’t my true passion. I tried nails off and on, but quickly realized I’m not a service provider — I’m a seller! I had been recording music the whole time but was too shy to drop anything. In 2020, I launched a cosmetics line that took off, but eventually closed that too, because I knew I needed to focus on what really made me happy.
Around the time we had our daughter, I finally took the leap into performing, started doing shows, and started gaining momentum. I got serious about studying the business side of music. I even went to school and finished a Digital Marketing Science certification on January 27th, 2024.
Now I’m fully focused on building my personal brand and growing as an artist. Since then, I’ve locked in multiple brand deals, earned awards, passed 500k streams, just launched a hair care line and much more. I’m just getting started. Watch what happens next!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been smooth. My life has been shaped by a lot of struggles.
I grew up facing trauma early on. My father abandoned me, and I had to navigate life with a lot of loss — from running from bullets in my own neighborhood to losing several men in my family. Losing my aunt, who was only 14 years older than me, and my grandmother, who was like a second mom to me, are losses I still mourn to this day.
On top of that, I’ve battled with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. There were days I couldn’t see the light, but those challenges forced me to build resilience and tap into a deeper strength I didn’t know I had. Every setback only made me more determined to succeed and to not let these struggles define me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a rapper, entrepreneur, and creator. My music is all about empowerment, independence, and confidence — especially for women who are ready to take control of their lives. But it’s not just women who vibe with my music; men connect with my tracks too, and that’s something I’m proud of.
I’m most proud of the way I’ve built my brand. It’s not just about the music for me. I’ve grown my business with my hair care line, landed brand deals, and even earned multiple awards. But more than anything, I’m proud of the community I’ve created around my work. I want to inspire people to chase their dreams and build something that reflects who they are.
What sets me apart is my hustle and my approach. I’m not just focused on making hits; I’m about the business side of things too. I’ve studied the game and learned how to navigate it on my own terms, all while keeping it real with my fans. I’m here to build a legacy
What are your plans for the future?
My future is all about growth and taking my brand to the next level. In the short term, I’m focused on consistently releasing new music, staying connected with my fans, and expanding my brand with even more collaborations and brand deals. I’m also working on scaling my hair care business and making sure HelloXo continues to resonate with my audience.
Long-term, I’m aiming to solidify my place as an international music and business mogul. I plan on selling out arenas, doing more high-profile collaborations, and launching new products and projects that align with my brand. I’m also looking forward to building a team that shares my vision, so I can grow my brand on a larger scale while still being hands-on with my music and business.
