Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Williams.
Hi Christopher, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
i always had an appreciation for music, not just the songs or the artists but also the process. how a song can start from one note and turn into a whole project. i got into music (mostly rap, r&b and electronic) thanks to my parents and their cool taste in music and also the internet. my favorite artists who would eventually lead me to wanting to create things for myself were kendrick lamar and tyler, the creator. i’ve started producing music since i was 11, around late 2015 and i’ve just been slowly improving since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
i’ve been going through with medical complications all my life. growing up with sickle cell anemia, getting my gallbladder removed and getting my hip replaced when i was around 16. when i was younger it was tough, mostly because medical advancements in sickle cell research just didn’t happen yet. but even now my chronic pain will flare up every now and then. just in the past 3 months i was hospitalized 4 times. but i ain’t gonna let that stop me from hustlin.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
i’m a music producer and graphic designer. i make trap/hip hop instrumentals and various types of electronic music and i design all my own cover art. i put myself into everything. my experiences, my thoughts and my feelings into every project. i love the feeling of taking a blank project file and turning it into something i’m proud of, something i can feel good about putting on the internet. an emotion no ai could feel.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
growing up i was mostly just into video games and music. stuff like saints row 2, gta 4 & 5, skate 3. games that i wouldn’t even be near if i didn’t have cool parents. after middle school i just got a little more secluded and i’d just screw around on my laptop. very stereotypical for the gamer and musician to be a introverted nerd in school but it’s whatever. i think that people who know me would tell you i’m a goofball but that’s if they’re putting it nicely.
