Check Out Carlie Hilbert’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlie Hilbert.

Hi Carlie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been creating art my whole life. I started creating pet portraits and other paintings for friends and family as gifts which grew into a side business while I was in college pursing my degree in art education. I graduated from college in 2015 and taught art in all grade levels and subject matters for ten years, all while growing my art business on the side. After I had my daughter I decided to leave teaching, stay home with my daughter, and pursue my art business full time. It has always been my dream to be able to create art full time and expand my business in all art forms.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been very challenging to expand my business while I was teaching full time. I’ve since been working hard on creating my website, expanding my social media, as well as adding more to art/services.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in realism pet and people portraits as well as home watercolor and digital portraits. I also create canvas and digital minimalist artwork.

My most popular custom paintings are my pet and people portraits. Whether it is a painting of a family pet or a loved one, my goal is to capture the essence and personality of the subject in detail.

I’m most proud to hear from clients when they gift a custom artwork I made and the receiver of the gift loves the artwork.

What sets me apart from others is my versatility in art forms, I don’t just offer one set of custom artwork. The options are endless and I love to expand my creative opportunities and most importantly, I strive to help my clients artistic vision come to life.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My mom growing up had a ‘craft room’ full of any and all art supplies and activities. I believe that’s where a lot of my creativity and craft was made because of all the hours I spent exploring all the art opportunities I could.

Pricing:

  • Pet and People Portrait Paintings starting at $85
  • Home Paintings $60
  • Digital artwork starting at $35
