Daily Inspiration: Meet Steve Stegall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Stegall.

Steve, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 1991-92 I really started getting into hockey and became a huge fan when the KCBlades won the Turner Cup. Venture forward 20 years and I thought it was beyond time to have a place where people could gather to watch this beautiful sport because there was nowhere in the city to watch it. 13 years later we’re still seeing our hockey fans every day. We’re absolutely blessed

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The year we opened there was a hockey strike so that was a little challenging. But the big challenges came with coronavirus where you had to adapt to survive. Ever since then the industry has been battered and now we have had to adapt again with tariffs going into place. Bars and Restaurants who can adapt will survive. We are blessed with our River Market neighbors, regulars and our hockey fans so we haven’t been impacted as much

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I came from a hard working family and that was instilled at a young life. I worked manufacturing jobs until I saved enough money to open a successful car detailing shop and then go on to promote music as well. I absolutely love to sell things I believe in. Six months after the BlueLine opened we brought in Letty who became my wife Not long after opening. She has turned the BlueLine into what it is today. We both work together and plan on ways to make the BlueLine better. I’m just really proud of her and all of our employees for making the BlueLine what it is

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My wife and I are very personable people who absolutely love to be at the BlueLine. It’s a home for us and all of our customers to hang out. You don’t see the interaction with owners to customers like you do there. We absolutely love everyone who supports and believes in what we have which is one big family
