Hi Carnecia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started this idea in May of 2024, I knew I needed a way to start expressing myself. I suffer with anxiety and mania and having an expressive outlet helps keep my mind on track. I struggled for weeks thinking of a way I could showcase my creativity and helps others do the same as well. I am very eccentric and outgoing and I looove fashion. I also wear hats 4/7 days of the week, because what is a girl to do when she is having a bad hair day. That is how Urban Brim Company was created. I have put my heart and soul into creating a warm and welcoming experience when people interact with the Mobile Hat Bar. It is not just shopping it is a interactive retail experience that pushes your mind to the limits for creativity. Knowing that you will be wearing this to show who YOU are. We wear our PRIDE at Urban Brim Co.! I’ve woken up late nights with ideas to make my business better and spent countless hours at pop-ups. Creating marketing and branding for my social media platforms. I’ve done so much networking in my community and invested countless days preparing for events, and finding any way to make my business the best it can be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has not been a smooth road whatsoever but it has been fun. Starting this business and the initial investment to do so kept me up for weeks. I kept going back and forth deciding if this was something I could find the time for as I do work a full-time job in Mental Health. Also being a small business owner is not for the weak. I was learning something new everyday. Always a new challenge ahead. I am currently still struggling with my travel situation. We are looking at investing into an enclosed trailer to remodel as currently I use my 4 door sedan to pack all of my inventory and displays into for pop-up events. Everything takes time and I will get to where I need to be. I feel like I just need to continue to work hard.

Urban Brim Company is a custom interactive shopping experience. We wear our PRIDE! We are a mobile trucker hat bar that services all of Central Kansas and a few surrounding areas. At Urban Brim Co. we specialize in our custom patch bar where you can create customized trucker hats, beanies, belt bags and more and we press them on site. We are known for our fun, trendy and customizable options. We are known for our creative and fun interactive experience that can be tailored for all walks of life. What sets us apart from others is that this is a hands on retail experience, you can make and take customized items without having to wait for shipping. What I am most proud of brand wise is that I’ve built something from scratch that is relatable for others. Our brand and customer service is a memorable experience and that is something that we take pride in. Something I want my readers to know about Urban Brim Co is that if you can imagine it we can create it. What’s next?
Our plans for the future include collaborating with another small business to create a website that allows customers to create their own hats online as well as book us for any events or parties. We are also applying to receive grant money to expand Urban Brim Co. by investing in an enclosed trailer that can be remodeled and used at pop-up events and parties. This will maximize our versatility to appear in new locations and give us the reach to obtain diverse customer bases. We also have some big changes coming with adding inventory options and becoming more involved with marketing for our community.
