Hi A’Lexus, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sacred bEARTH unconsciously started while I was pregnant. Being that I wanted an unmedicated and natural labor I researched A LOT because I had a specific idea of how I would’ve liked for my labor to flow. During my pregnancy I was told that my baby had IUGR (growth restriction) and I was considered high risk & there was nothing I could do about it. With being high risk came weekly fear mongering hospital visits & even with the reassurance of my husband and family, I was still emotional and worried about my baby. I hired a doula. She reassured me & educated me with everything that I needed to feel confident again in my journey. I took a child birth education class with her and was extremely impressed with myself at how much I’ve learned on my own and taking her class just confirmed my own research while still learning from her as well. My labor went exactly as planned and my doula was absolutely amazing. Postpartum went extremely well for me with the support of my village. What more could I have asked for. I wasn’t satisfied though, I needed to help other people have an incredible birth just as I experienced & teach them the things that I learned and that’s how sacred bEARTH was born. I am currently enrolled in my doula’s certification course to become a certified doula and expand my services to insurance companies. What a full circle moment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey with Sacred bEARTH has been deeply rewarding, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. Like many entrepreneurs in the birthwork space, navigating the balance between passion and sustainability has been a constant learning experience. Establishing a presence, building trust within the community, and ensuring accessibility for all families have required dedication and resilience.

Embracing the emotional and physical demands of supporting families during some of life’s most transformative moments can be both beautiful and heavy. There have been moments of self-doubt and exhaustion, but the purpose behind Sacred bEARTH has always kept me grounded. Staying committed to advocacy, continuing education, and creating inclusive, affirming spaces has made the challenges worthwhile. Every family I’ve had the honor of supporting has reminded me why this work is so essential.

The road hasn’t always been smooth, but the growth — both personally and professionally — has been invaluable. I’m deeply grateful for the support of my community and the opportunity to walk alongside families during their sacred journeys.

Outside of being a wife and mom; What makes me truly happy is witnessing the strength and resilience of the families I support. There’s something incredibly powerful about holding space for people as they navigate the sacred journey of bringing life into the world. Seeing a birthing person step into their power, trust their body, and feel supported — that’s where my joy comes from.

I’m also deeply fulfilled by the connections I build. Every family has a unique story, and being a part of those moments, whether joyful or challenging, is an honor. Knowing that I’ve helped someone feel seen, heard, and empowered brings a sense of purpose that words can’t fully capture.

This work is a calling and it fills my spirit. Every family’s story leaves an imprint on my heart, and that connection — that shared experience of growth and celebration — is what makes me happiest
