Hidden Gems: Meet Brandon Jordan of Revocup Coffee- Leawood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Jordan

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What began as a simple weekly coffee date between husband and wife & small children quickly grew into something much more. As we wandered through Kansas City’s vibrant coffee scene, exploring shop after shop, we found ourselves falling in love-not just with each other over lattes, but with the entire world of coffee.
Over time, we noticed we kept returning to one special place even though it was 25 minutes away from our home:Revocup Coffee. It became more than just our favorite spot; it became the heart of our passion. As we built a friendship with the owner, we were inspired by the mission behind the brand- Revocup’s dedication to supporting coffee producers and giving back to their communities resonated deeply with us. At the time we were already in the early stages of investing in a different business venture. However, we quickly realized our hearts were pulling us in another direction- one that reflected our shared love of coffee, connection, and community. Choosing. to partner with Revocup was a decision fueled by purpose. We saw in its founders a shared commitment to fairness and compassion within the coffee industry, and we knew we wanted to be a part of that mission.
Just as we were finding our rhythm, the world shifted. Opening our shop just as the Covid-19 Pandemic began was a challenge we never expected. But through resilience and the incredible support. of the Leawood Community we found our footing. Today we are proud to serve as a space where friendships are formed, stories are shared, and every cup of coffee makes a difference.

Our little shop is where passion meets purpose, and every sip gives back. Our little cozy space that welcomes all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many small businesses, especially those opening during uncertain times, we faced our fair share of challenges.
One of the biggest struggles came right at the start – opening our doors just as the pandemic swept across the world. The excitement of launching our dream quickly turned into navigating shutdowns, safety protocols, and the uncertainty of how to serve a community when people were staying home. It was a trial by fire, learning to adapt to curbside service, shifting customer habits, and constantly. adjusting to new regulations.
Beyond the pandemic we also faced the typical growing pains of learning to run a business as a family. Balancing work and home life blurred as we poured countless hours into our shop. There were moments of financial pressure, staffing hurdles, contractor issues, and the emotional weight of wondering if we made the right choice switching business directions.

However, these struggles strengthened us. They forced us to get creative, lean on each other, and stay rooted in why we started this journey- to create a space built on passion, community and a shared love of coffee.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
