Rising Stars: Meet Carmelita E. Clark of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmelita E. Clark

Hi Carmelita E., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been an Educator for over 30 years. I have a heart for ALL children. After watching the news and hearing about a child as young as 7 years of age committing suicide due to bullying, I cried out to God, how can I help, what would you have me to do?
That night, April 2011, in a dream, God gave me the vision of an African-American Super-Hero named, AntiBully Man & The Five Dastardly Bullies. I didn’t know how to draw, so I asked my then 15 year old Great-Nephew, Keyon Woods, to draw the characters as seen in the dream. The characters all have super powers and characteristics. The characters are, Super-Hero, AntiBully Man. He is a School Counselor, who is named Brady Booker. The Bullies are all different races and nationalities. Jack the Jock is African-American, Ornery Oscar is Caucasian, Stuck Up Sally is Asian, Tommy Taker is is Bi-Racial, Skid Row Sergio is Hispanic. Afterwards, my husband and I, Wade Clark started attending every free event we could find where we would set up our table with free coloring pages of our Super Hero and Dastardly Bullies, free CD’s of my Antibullying Hip Hop Rap Song, Hey Naw, Hey Yall and promotional flyers. My husband , was still working and I was in need of help. Again, I asked God, who should I ask, He said, your BFF, Rev. Theresa McLoyd. In 2012, Rev. McLoyd became the COO of Bullying Halt the Behavior and I, the Founder & CEO. In 2015, Super Hero AntiBully Dog was created and in 2019, Brave Breonna. July 2020, we received our 501 C 3 Non Profit status! Since that time, we have added Antibullying Products such as, All Seeing Eye Rings , Capes, Masks, Bracelets, additional antibullying characters, Super-Hero AntiBully Dog, Positive ByStander, Brave Breonna, AntiBully Man Plush Doll, Coloring Books, other Antibullying E-Commerce Products and original Songs. Both Theresa and I are Children Illustrated Authors. Our books are included in our programs along with our full Antibullying Curriculum and Lesson Plans for grades Pre-K to 12th. Prior to Covid we visited Schools, Churches and other organizations with our Live AntiBullyMan faclitating Workshops, Assemblies and Seminars. We have partnered with Sonic, Mazuma Credit Union and, McDonalds . For the past 7-8 years we’ve participated with Kauffman Stadium/KC Royals/Channel 4 and Channel 41 at Day At the K, where we have passed out Mazuma Banks & Pencils, Sonic Coupons, etc. to over 10,000 students.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it has not been a smooth road. One of our challenges have been meeting and networking with hundreds of people and organizations that can see our vision but have not been able to provide any resources.

Joining organizations such as WIT, and another organizations related to our antibullying mission that was not able to help us financially or provide the exposure we needed.

In our efforts to try to get our characters to the Toy Industry in big box stores, we have attended various webinars and vendor events. Although, they have been very educational and informative, we have been unable to tap into the Toy Industry.

What do you specialize in? Helping people reach their fullest educational potential by helping them obtain company reimbursement, financial aid, scholarships, other grants and funding options.
What are you know for? Creating and developing programs for children and senior adults.
What are you most proud of? My 2 grown children and 25 year old granddaughter
What sets you apart from others? My ability to gather people to a community for various causes such as support, rather that be social, financial or spiritual that provides resources to enhance there lives.

These are the things we are currently focused on.

We are in need of Funding, Angel Investors and Grants. The vision to create the world’s one and only original Antibullying SuperHero AntiBully Man & The Five Dastardly Bullies was given to me in a dream in 2011. Along with my business partner, Theresa McLoyd, we both have created original Antibullying products, games, puzzles, toys, original books, music, wristbands, etc. We have the greatest compassion to teach through our Pre-K to Grade 12 Curriculums and antibullying products that ALL persons are worthy of Respect, Kindness and Dignity! Bullying is a destructive behavior. There are many Educational programs but there are no Antibullying Products. This is what we desire to offer to the world. We would also like to have an Educational Fun Center in a building or warehouse where children can come on field trips to create their own plush AntiBully Man, AntiBully Dog, School Counselor Brady Booker and positive ByStander, Brave Breonna, play Antibullying games, purchase fun treats such as nachos, pizza and hotdogs. Employers can bring Employees for Educational Antibullying Training. We would like for our characters AntiBully Man, AntiBully Dog, Brady Booker, Brave Breonna & The Five Dastardly Bullies to be onsite dressed in costume to take pictures with those who visit our facility

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Carmelita E. Clark: What makes me happy? Seeing others Happy. Watching others reach and obtain their goals. Helping others, especially those who cannot help themselves. Spending time with family and friends.
Why? It shows the love that Christ has shown to me.

Rev. Theresa McLoyd: What makes me happy? Spending time with my family & friends

Why? Because I enjoy the opportunity to see them excel and grow and do some of the things they desire to accomplish and achieve.
