Community Highlights: Meet Nikita Razo of Pink Pixie Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikita Razo

Hi Nikita, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I honestly never planned on starting a marketing business… I just have a habit of jumping headfirst into things and figuring it out as I go. Back in February 2013, I kicked off my business ownership obsession with a photography business in North Carolina. As a military spouse, life kept me on the move — Georgia, then South Korea, and finally Kansas. I spent ten years behind the camera, and no matter where I landed, I found a way to continuously grow, connect with new clients, and keep things running year after year.

By August 2023, I was done—not just tired, but ready to shut that chapter of my life and never look back. So, naturally, I jumped into something totally different and opened a rage room, because who doesn’t love breaking stuff? That wild ride lasted a year and a half. Then I opened an event venue for a year, while simultaneously working six months as the marketing manager for the Boys & Girls Club. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I realized that what I really loved about every business I’d ever run wasn’t the product or service—it was the marketing.

Funny enough, I had already created the Pink Pixie Marketing logo a full year before I ever did anything with it. At the time, it just didn’t feel right. When I finally took the leap, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Now, here I am—bringing everything I’ve learned from building, running, and sometimes completely reinventing businesses into something that finally feels like the right fit. It’s been a wild ride, but honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had my fair share of twists, turns, and straight-up “WTF am I even doing?!” moments in business. Every step of the way came with its own struggles, but somehow, I always figured it out—even when it felt like everything was working against me.
Being a military spouse meant packing up my life (and my business) every few years. Every time I moved, I had to start over. I had to find new clients, build a new reputation, and adapt to a whole new market. And just when things would finally settle, it was time to move again. It was exhausting, but I refused to let my business die just because my zip code changed.
Walking away from my photography business after ten years was one of the hardest things I’ve done. I had built that business from the ground up, moved it across the world, and watched it grow—only to realize that it just wasn’t for me anymore. I knew in my heart it was the right choice, but that didn’t make actually following through with it any easier. A new direction meant starting from scratch, learning a new industry, and taking risks that didn’t always come with a safety net.
I’ve never just been the business owner. Running a business solo means constantly juggling everything—sometimes it feels like I’m barely keeping my head above water. And don’t even get me started on the ADHD burnout.
But each business taught me something new—not just about entrepreneurship, but about what I actually wanted out of my work. Photography gave me creative freedom, but eventually, it drained me. The rage room and event venue were exciting, but they didn’t pan out as long term winners. Even working as a marketing manager showed me that I’d rather run my own thing than build something for someone else. Every experience, even the ones that didn’t work out, brought me closer to realizing what my next step should be.
By the time I finally launched Pink Pixie Marketing, I was no stranger to running a business—but I was still starting from scratch. A new industry, a new audience, and the pressure to make this one work. Everything I had been through, every business I had built, and every challenge I had tackled led me to this.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
About Pink Pixie Marketing
I started Pink Pixie Marketing to help small business owners ditch the confusion and actually make their marketing work. I focus on social media management, content creation, branding, graphic design, and website strategy—basically, all the things that help your business show up online in a way that makes people pay attention. I don’t do one-size-fits-all marketing. Everything I create is built around your brand, your audience, and what actually moves the needle.

What Makes Me Different?
I keep it real and results-driven. I’ve seen way too many small business owners waste time, energy, and money on marketing that goes nowhere because no one ever teaches them how to do it right. I don’t do empty trends or pointless busywork—I focus on marketing that actually connects, converts, and builds a brand people care about.

What I’m Most Proud of Brand-Wise
I love that Pink Pixie Marketing has a personality. So many marketing businesses feel bland and corporate, but that’s just not me. I built my brand to be bold, fun, and a little spicy while still being strategic and smart. And honestly, I’m proud that everything I offer comes from real experience. I’ve been the small business owner trying to figure marketing out on my own. I’ve built and grown businesses from scratch, so I don’t just talk about marketing—I’ve lived it.

What I Want People to Know About My Brand
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, second-guessing your marketing, or throwing content at the wall and hoping it sticks, I can help. Whether you need a social media strategy that makes sense, branding that actually fits your business, or a website that isn’t just sitting there collecting digital dust, I make marketing simple, sustainable, and maybe even a little fun.

Any big plans?
Right now, I’m all about leveling up—for myself, my business, and the clients I work with. Pink Pixie Marketing has grown so much already, but I’m always looking for ways to make things better, bolder, and more impactful.

Here’s what I’m excited about:

Creating Digital Products – I just launched my first marketing ebook, and I’m so excited to finally have a resource that helps business owners get unstuck and take control of their marketing. Those who aren’t quite ready for done-for-you services but still want to DIY their marketing the right way. My goal is to make marketing less overwhelming and more strategic, so business owners can stop spinning their wheels and actually see results.

Expanding My Offerings – I want to take what I do to the next level. Whether that’s building out more strategic marketing packages, offering new services, or refining what I already do, I’m always looking for ways to help small business owners in a way that actually makes a difference.

Growing My Brand Presence – I’ve been so focused on helping other businesses show up online that sometimes I put my own marketing on the back burner. I’m making it a priority to show up more, share more behind-the-scenes, and build an even stronger connection with my audience.

Continuing to Build a Business That Fits My Life – I’ve spent years creating and growing businesses, and at this point, I know what I want: freedom, creativity, and a business that works for me—not the other way around. Every move I make is about building something sustainable, fulfilling, and fun.

No matter what, I’m always going to be pushing forward. I’ve never been the type to sit still, so you can bet there’s always something new in the works.
