Hi Brooke, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Brooke Bruce and my husband and I own and operate The Bruce Farm. The Bruce Farm specializes in breeding Goldendoodle puppies and raising high quality beef delivered locally to your door.
Goldendoodles: Our goal is to produce puppies that make wonderful companions, so we breed with a focus on health and temperament above all. We want all of our puppies to live long and happy lives with their forever families. Each puppy is greatly loved by us and we ensure they are socialized, healthy and prepare to excel in their forever homes. We raise puppies following the Puppy Culture Method and they get a head started on potty and crate training. We want them to be easily trainable and have a smooth transition to their new home. We are dedicated to always providing you with a positive experience, and are committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training and rehoming our puppies. Our puppies are raised with love and we strive to help each one grown up with confidence so they are ready to leave with their new families. The are affectionate, intelligent, and cute as can be!
Quality Beef: We raise our grass fed, grass finished beef on our farms in Kingsville, Missouri and Chillhowee, Missouri (50 miles southeast of Kansas City). We are committed to regenerating the land, giving our animals the best life possible and sharing our high quality meats by conveniently deliever them to your door. When you order from The Bruce Farm, you get meat raised by us, on our farm. We take pride in operating our farm and business with our animals and our customers as our top priority.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road – we continue to learn and fail every day.
Trying to navigate through managing all the things… animals, a home, a kiddo, a full-time away from home job for Kaleb, farms in two different locations, etc. has been a challenge. We have failed more times than we would like to admit. Livestock can face various challenges, including diseases, extreme weather conditions, inadequate nutrition, etc.
We continue to learn along the way and address these issues by improving management practices, veterinary care, and research into finding the best practices, the more resilient breeds and farming methods for our area. We have been extremely lucky to have neighbors who are not only helpful when challenges arise but also happy to help educate us from their past experiences.

How do you define success?
For us success is defined as a balance between financial stability, personal fulfillment and community impact. The goal is for the farm to generation enough income to cover expenses, reinvest in our business and provide for our family. To do this, we focus on producing a high quality product with ethical practices that build trust among our customers and the community.
