Hidden Gems: Meet Nichole Fox of CHOLES LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole Fox

Hi Nichole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Meet Nichole, the digital media maven who has been blazing trails in the industry for over a decade! With a heart rooted in Kansas City, she has navigated markets coast to coast, always returning to her beloved hometown.

Her journey has been all about bridging the gap between traditional and digital media. Nichole’s expertise lies in empowering traditional media teams to embrace the ever-evolving digital landscape and seize exciting opportunities for their clients. Her passion for an omnichannel approach has been the key to her success, connecting clients to customers like never before.

Currently, she holds the reins of the Digital Department at Steel City Media, a multimedia powerhouse with an unwavering focus on the local community. Steel City Media’s Mix 93.3, KFKF, KC102.1, and Q104 channels boast top-rated personalities and well-established events, delivering an unparalleled entertainment experience to KC residents.

But Nichole’s ambitions don’t end there—she’s a multi-faceted individual who finds joy in family bonds and personal projects. As the eldest of three siblings, she cherishes moments spent with her loved ones, especially when playing with her adorable young nieces, Ellie and Olivia. Beyond her professional endeavors, Nichole has recently embarked on an exciting venture by launching CHOLES, LLC, a lifestyle brand designed for women, a testament to her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Even with a busy schedule, Nichole finds immense joy in giving back to the community through volunteering at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen and becoming a licensed foster parent. When she’s not immersed in the world of media and community engagement, you’ll likely find her jamming out at concerts or whisking away on weekend getaways, soaking in new experiences and creating memories that add vibrant colors to the canvas of her life.

Nichole’s story is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and the pursuit of dreams. She continues to be a guiding light in the digital media realm, inspiring others to embrace change, connect communities, and leave a positive impact wherever she goes!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge has been BALANCE. I have always been an individual that is zero to 100. From running a Department with a renowned media group in town, to holding a board seat, to running my own consulting business to now becoming an overnight parent to a teenager, navigating what needs my attention and at what times has been a massive undertaking. That said, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have learned and grown so much as an individual over the past year. I think what has really helped as been the advice of give as much as you can today and know that it is enough. Some days that’s 20% other days that’s a true 100%. Knowing I gave it my all is all the peace of mind I need.

We’ve been impressed with CHOLES LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CHOLES LLC I cofounded in 2023, for a space to promote women – through clothing, accessories and of course media consulting. I have such a passion to help others and get them to see the beauty in themselves and all around them. I am super proud of the instant connection we build at our community events. Leaving someone better than you found them is something I live by. We are a locally women owned business and would love the support to check us out!

What matters most to you?
Faith. Every decision, every interaction I try to lead with my beliefs and values I grew up in a Catholic household.

Anytime someone says how do you do it? How are you running your own business, sit on a nonprofit board, run an entire department and be a single parent to a 16 year old? I have to tell them it was a calling from God. I never dreamt of becoming a foster parent – let alone at the height of my career — all while trying to go on dates to find my person?! No way! It was bigger than me. (Trust me, I straight up tried to ignore the call for two weeks. Something I am not proud of, but I have to be honest). I encourage anyone that will listen, if they find themselves stuck to sit in silence, if praying isn’t your thing then practice the art of being still. It is amazing what the universe has in store for your life if you are open to listening.
