Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrell Randolph
Hi Darrell, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Boston,MA Fidelis Way Projects. Raised in Boston, Florida, and The Choctaw reservation in Mississippi, I have always been a music and psychology minded individual. I have been around the world twice traveled playing jazz, songwriting and being a halo investor. My mentor as a young creative was Prince. He taught many things about music and how important it is to know yourself and confidence in art. After a bad contract with Capitol records I focused on the business side of things so it never happens to another person like me again. I moved to KC in 2015. I love it. Kansas City has the best mix of history, culture, soul, pride, and black business. I want to be the mentor and positive force that I needed when I was coming up in business. Wouldn’t live anywhere else honestly.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not a smooth road at all. I own 8 businesses but I still work in corporate so that has its own set of challenges. In my life I have been a millionaire 3 times and homeless twice because I did not have my mindset or business right. Maintaining relationships, transitioning to new areas of business, and dealing with people that smile in your face but do not have your best interest at heart is a constant battle but through my challenges I have committed to being that shaman or guide for others with my consulting business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Darrell Jamal Consulting covers Business advocacy, Contract Negotiation, Artist development, Business consulting, and many more.
We specialize is helping you achieve your business goals from Idea to execution. We are more than just a consulting company. We help prepare you for success in and outside of the business.
I’m known for my strategic problem solving skills and life coaching ability.
I am also known for my songwriting ability that focuses on meeting the artist where they are in their process and making sure that the song or project has their personality.
What sets me apart is my ability to relate. I’m a black man who has experienced triumph and defeat. What sets me apart is my ability to be in a board meeting or the stoop and be comfortable and relatable. I am me no matter what and I make sure that transparency is the main thing.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a nerd. I read comic books, watch anime, sing, and I do a lot of micro learning. One of my favorite resources is the Black and Brown Men’s Healing Circle. The meetings are every Sunday.
That is a non profit that I believe in heavily. Men need to understand the importance of mental health and community.
