Hi Austin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always get these random business ideas in my head, one day I was scrolling Facebook and a video popped up. This guy was flying this drone and it looked so cool to me! I did some research, set up my business, bought a drone, got my FAA certification to fly commercially and the rest is history.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This endeavor has been pretty smooth! The toughest part for sure was the exam to get my license. It was a 2 hour, 60 question test covering everything from drone laws, weather, airspace, and all kinds of other stuff. Besides that, it’s honestly been a breeze!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Campbell Aerial is an imagery company based in Holden, MO and service much of midwest MO, a lot of our work taking place in the KC metro! Our main focuses are pictures and videos for real estate listings and eye-catching commercials for businesses. What sets us apart is our editing ability. There are lots of drone businesses in this market, but not many are as skilled as us with editing photos and videos to make an end product that stands out. Although we offer interior photography, the jobs I love the most are film productions that allow me to fly the drone.

What matters most to you?
To me it’s all about quality over quantity. There are lots of guys that pride themselves on speed. They say they can have these insanely fast turnaround times on their work, frankly that’s not something that’s important to me. If I’m putting my company’s name on something, I want everyone to know that while I’m not the fastest or the cheapest, I go the extra mile to push each project to its full potential. I want to deliver work that I would be wowed at if I were the client.
