Today we’d like to introduce you to Bee Creedon

Hi Bee, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing hair as a teen! I grew up in a small town, and getting the fun funky cuts I wanted was hard, so I started with a leg razor and kitchen scissors and began cutting my own hair, experimenting and trying to learn all I could before moving on to very trusting family and friends! I decided to officially go to cosmetology school after high school, and from there I’ve worked at three different salons with different specialities, before finally starting my own business in a salon suite about a year ago, and it’s been amazing getting to really lean into the creative self love part of doing hair!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Right after I graduated covid hit, and everything shut down. I have severe anxiety and those two things brought me close to quitting, but I really was able to lean on some fantastic friends, we did video calls every day almost and talked about everything, and when I eventually got on anxiety meds they encouraged me to do what I needed to not let the world or my own brain to stop me from doing what I love

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hive Mind Cuts?
I named my business Hive Mind Cuts, partially because my name is Bee, but also because I wanted to create a community, a hive of like minded people, my clients and I vibe so well, my salon is a safe space where anyone can come in and not just get a good cut, but really explore who they are and reflect that through their outwards appearance. What sets me apart is that the client is in charge of the cut, and i create their vision. I’ll never talk someone out of trying something just because its a drastic chance or a bit out there, in my salon you get to choose who you are and how you show that to the world. I’m really proud of building a brand that is slowing getting known for being open and accepting, I sort all my services by length, not gender, and you are guaranteed to leave feeling more confident in yourself than when you came in!
