Hidden Gems: Meet Jason Fenstermaker of Iron Kettle Brewing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Fenstermaker.

Jason, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The history of Iron Kettle Brewing started with Brian Fenstermaker and his passion for home brewing beer. Jason Fenstermaker his brother came along later when Brian needed help cleaning during the brewing sessions. Jason was for sure willing to clean as long as that meant he got some of the beer. Brian perfected his craft and then in 2019 the two brothers decided to try their luck and start looking for a place to brew. Our mom passed in Dec. of 2019 and we decided to do this in her honor. Yes, beer and food might be our key product, but our Kettle Foundation that gives back to our local community is what we want our identity to be.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in the Brewing or restaurant side of things has been smooth. Like any small business you definatly are learning as you are going. Brian is an elevator mechanic by day and Jason is a school teacher. So this is their second jobs. So getting the right people in place that you can trust to run your business when you are not there has been key.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We specialize in qualify hand crafted drinks. It could be a beer, seltzer or cider, Brian has always tried to as creative as possible in putting his recipes together. Jason running the business side has always made it a point to celebrate and display their Scottish heritage in the decor and the names of the drinks.
