Community Highlights: Meet Deanna Shaw of Old Mill Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Shaw

Hi DeAnna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey Friends! After many years of trying ton find direction, the routine of everyday life, marriage, divorce, school and parenting I was a Surgical Tech in Orthopedics which I loved! After a couple of medical concerns, I began frequenting a new local nutrition shop to replace my coffee addiction, they were not helping my conditions. Within a year I wanted this for myself! I wanted to share my love for nutrition, and wellness. I wanted to love going to work everyday, chatting it up with daily guests that became family, and then helping others begin their own businesses with the opportunity! We are now a team of 10 teams, and coaching several more as they begin their business journey not only in the US but in other countries as well!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! You can imagine having the best game plan and idea in mind… Thinking of the time frame of leaving your full time job, as a dating mother of 4, and taking a chance on your own business… and in the process of thinking you have a plan you sign your lease and the world shuts down for the 2020 Covid Pandemic. What a fear! Operating room hours were shortened, there wasn’t much time to get the store open, and now shortages across the world are occuring. Just as we open June 2020, and get a flow my now husband has a terrible accident that requires a couple surgeries and keeps him out of work. At this time, its success or nothing, so we keep pushing together to share our love, and excitement then and everyday as we did on day one!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
This is our home base! The first of 4 so far, owned by myself & my family. The start of where our teammates saw the dream, vision and opportunity. Our stores are just clubs, thats right, the hang out, have fun, and catch up club!
At the club, we catch up, play games and enjoy healthy products! We learn about better habits, and reaching nutrition and health goals of such a variety! From the inside out we have made such an impact on hundreds of friends, facing multitiudes of challenges at different stage of life and that’s worth it all for me!!

To see clients, friends, and family smile from their success, be proud of their results, and grow as an individual and in business means I am making a difference! Everyday I just pray to get the opportunity to share with just one more person!

I am now remarried, we have a blended family of 6 kids, and 2 spouses, and our nutrition business fully supports us! I would want anyone reading this to know, dont give up on yourself, dont be upset that you didnt take the chance or you were fearful to make a career change, and dont let yourself down regarding your health. You are your greatest investment! Wether you reach out to me for coaching or products, ours or from elsewhere, I will always be your biggest fan and share my knowledge and support wherever you are at.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My transparency. I am aware that sometimes I talk too much, but for me I don’t. I always want to provide all the information possible. I am easy to talk to, and I love to talk! I love the outdoors, dance, nutrition, animals, race cars, and so much more that I can relate to almost anything and that excites me meeting new people and hearing about them !
I am outgoing, and I always believe there’s a way to make things work and figure them out. Not only do I sign up to be the cheerleader, but I will also be right in the middle doing the work!
I’ve had some low experiences, but being the best example for my daughters, sharing my passion, and faith and never quitting for my family keeps me going daily.
