Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddie Graham

Maddie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a teen, I fell in love with thrifting for the simple fact that I could create unique outfits and combinations that weren’t the same repeated outfits everyone was buying at the mall.

In high school I got pregnant and realized I wouldn’t be moving to a big city to fill my fashion dreams and that I’d have to figure out how to do that locally

I worked in local boutiques so I could stay in fashion, but people would always come in asking if I was working so I could help them shop / figure out what to wear for an event or trip

I decided I needed to go to the people and help them create their own desired looks from home, like I had been doing since childhood.

From there my business grew rapidly. I then learned about Body Type Styling to give people more reasons as to why or why not to wear something and it’s been growing ever since!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Many people on the outside may think it’s been a smooth broad as they watch me on instagram but it has not

Mostly I had to overcome all of my insecurities, self doubt and even self hatred. People don’t realize how hard entrepreneurship is until they live it. It’s a you vs you game every day. I’m very proud of myself for what I have overcame internally but it has not been easy.

The fashion part – that part though is easy lol

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I chose the artist/creative over employee/professional because what I’m doing is an art that I’ve been working on for over a decade

I feel what sets me apart is that I’m here to help teach and support. I’m a Personal Stylist here to teach you how to feel your best and feel confident!

I don’t walk in and think I’m better than you in any way and I don’t gag at your current style choice. I use what I have learned to simply help you elevate and evolve into who you are and want to be so you can live as freely and authentically as possible!

I dive in with you. I help you find yourself more deeply so you can express yourself more authentically.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
As far as risks go, I think I’ve only made one big risk and that has been betting on myself.

I don’t have a lot of overhead or big risks that need to be taken, but running the risk of going all in on my business and betting on myself to be able to provide a great life for my family has been the ultimate risk of all
