Hi Suddenly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Suddenly Nixon, and I am the Founder and CEO of Sudden Moms LLC. Established in 2021, Sudden Moms LLC is a Nanny Agency specializing in providing comprehensive Nanny and Enrichment Services. Our mission is to offer families high-quality, round-the-clock in-home childcare, complemented by a curriculum tailored to meet children’s individual learning needs.
The significance of my business lies in my belief that early childhood experiences are critical in shaping a child’s future. I am dedicated to ensuring that children receive the understanding and guidance they need to thrive.
My journey in working with children began unexpectedly when I learned I would become a mother at the age of 17. The surprise of my son opened a door I hadn’t anticipated. I started my career at Early Start St. Mark, an early childhood education center, whose support helped shape the person I am today. They provided me with resources and challenges that pushed me to reach my full potential. After the disruptions caused by COVID-19, I found the education system to be increasingly challenging. However, my desire to care for the children in our community and to build meaningful relationships with families remained strong, leading me to establish Sudden Moms.
In addition to my role at Sudden Moms LLC, I am also a songwriter and recording artist known as SUDD’NLY. My passion for music has always been a profound part of my life, serving as a means to express my vulnerability through words and melodies. Although my professional music career began in 2019, I have been entertaining in various settings such as churches, schools, and community events since childhood. Currently, I am working on my debut EP, having already released several singles.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been far from easy. There were times when I felt completely lost and uncertain about my purpose, leading me to change my career path multiple times. Initially, I aimed to become a nurse while in school, but the news of my son’s arrival left me feeling discouraged. Balancing the responsibilities of being a full-time mother with my journey of self-discovery has been one of the most challenging experiences I’ve faced. Additionally, deciding to leave a company where my mentors guided, believed in me, and essentially became like family was incredibly difficult. Nevertheless, they have continued to support me throughout my entrepreneurial journey and still provide valuable mentorship.

Music has also presented its own set of challenges. Consistency and identifying my target audience were significant hurdles. The costs associated with music production added to the struggle. However, things improved when I began to network and build relationships within the music industry. Many engineers and producers have collaborated with me based on my talent, setting aside financial concerns. My audience has been steadily growing, and I am thrilled that my pop music is finally reaching those who resonate with it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What sets me apart from others is my genuine and warm nature. My purpose is centered on serving others with sincerity. I am deeply passionate about building connections and helping people. The services I offer aim to enhance the lives of children, encouraging their development and well-being.
How is my business different from others?
In my music career, I strive to release relatable songs that bring people together. My goal is to create a sense of unity and shared experience through my music.
Suddenmoms is more than a brand; it is the driving force behind my artistry. Growing up with a sudden mom, I witnessed how unexpected motherhood can disrupt dreams. When I became a sudden mom myself, I realized the importance of a supportive village in raising a child and creating an environment where parents can lead by example. My experience in childcare has shown me the profound impact of parents pursuing their dreams, inspiring their children to do the same. Suddenmoms is not just a support network for families but also a gateway for my artistic journey, as I encourage my son to carve his own creative path.
