Community Highlights: Meet Thaddeus Foley of GleamWorks Detailing

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Thaddeus Foley.

Hi Thaddeus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
GleamWorks detailing started in the summer of my sophomore year. I had 200$ in my bank account, and I wanted to create something special and find a purpose for my time. I used to work as an umpire throughout that summer, but the low pay and the boringness filled my mind, and I wanted a change. I’ve always had a love for cars and sales. Business has always been my passion.

The way GleamWorks took off was the way I talk to people during my door-to-door sales technique. I gained a strong skill of talking to people at their door and selling my products because I used to sell coupon cards for my school football team. Now, I’m in my Junior year, and the business is doing better than ever.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Building a business is not as easy as it seems.

The main challenge I face on a day-to-day basis is keeping my schedule busy and full of customers. One day, while working, the cord to my pressure washer completely exploded, so I had to buy a new one.

Another challenge is balancing my business time with my school, sports, and my family.

GleamWorks detailing is a mobile car detailing business based in Overland Park, Kansas. GleamWorks detailing has detailed multiple Chiefs player’s cars (MVS, Sneed, Nic Jones, Chamarri Conner, Leo Chenal, Montrell Washington). GleamWorks detailing has also done famous YouTuber D’aydrian Harding’s cars!

We come to our customers’ houses whenever it is convenient and make their cars look brand new, satisfaction is guaranteed! What sets us apart from others is the efficiency of promptly detailing vehicles; we do it whenever the customer wants it done. We want our readers to reach out to us with any issues they have about the cleanliness of their vehicles, and we want to create a proud and happy customer community.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
The first risk I took was using all the money I saved up from my last job and going all in on creating this business. I took this risk only because I knew how persistent I was. I just wanted to create something special that I would be proud of and would make people in my community grateful and happy.
