Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Jackson.
Hi Christopher, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
For about the past 5 years, my job has had me on the road, and I quickly became an interested in trying new places. I always took an interest in trying new foods and restaurants. With the coworkers, we would always talk about what’s for lunch. As I would give my input, I noticed how a lot of people would get hungry and intrigued at how I would describe different dishes across the board. Then one day a coworker told me I should be an influencer after describing some food I had. At this point, I had just stopped streaming on Twitch as a gamer because I couldn’t be home as often as I needed to be to make that work. So immediately, the wheels started turning. Had me thinking this would be a great idea because I loved building a community and the interactions.
After pondering for a couple months, I finally pulled my phone out and started recording! With my faith, from that moment, it felt like God was telling me – This is it! It all began in Aug. 2023
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t the easiest road when I look back at it but in the moment, I was just happy to have a hobby. The editing was fun, and it was like I was telling a story. As positive as my mindset was, there were definitely slow beginnings. Posting on Instagram and Facebook there were many videos where I was the only like. That creates thoughts in your head where you’re like, should I be doing this? Fortunately, I stuck with it! After the first few months, I began to gain a little traction, and that was all the motivation I needed. To keep seeing the engagement even where there were only 10 likes or 1 comment, it fueled knowing that this hobby I not only enjoy doing but there were people starting to take notice.
From there, it’s always been an internal battle of getting better with my content. You mix that with working a full-time job and raising 3 children with a wife, and you start to feel like there isn’t enough time in the day to do it all. This left us with many nights of being up to 2 or 3 in the morning just editing videos. Not an easy thing to do all the time, so editing also took time away from family just to stay up to date with the content. Now I’m in it full time, and the new challenges are turning your image and likeness into a business model that’s sustainable to support my loved ones.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I worked in the car business for years before I worked as a liaison for dealerships across the state of Kansas into Missouri. This has greatly increased my communication skills. You mix that with have a Twitch streaming account for 6 years, it helps when I’m in front of the camera. It helps even more when I’m communicating with different restaurant owners and content creators as I continue to grow my network of other influencer friends.
What makes you happy?
Shining light on others and seeing them succeed is my greatest joy. From making a review that brings a business lots of new customers, throwing a BBQ for my friends and family to enjoy, or a random stranger who I connect with. People message me often talking about my energy or I made their day from a post or even just to gratitude for doing something positive to weir others admire. I’m a godly person and feel like, with the short time we have on this earth, I was created to be a positive role model. It fulfills me and makes my day to know I can bring others joy or inspiration that moves them. to try a new place they never knew about and move them to support others, whether that’s food or to even hit a like button.
