Inspiring Conversations with Vilash Reddy of One Life Psychiatry PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vilash Reddy.

Vilash Reddy

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
As a young child, I was always fascinated by mental illness when my father was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at 8 years old. I fell in love with the mind and how much it can impact the longevity and quality of each person’s mind. Over time, I learned about the impact of psychology with formal education as a child and adult psychiatrist who treats all types of addiction. I treat every psychiatric condition except eating disorders for logistics purposes. I like to learn the root and origin of every human. I practice alternative medicine, too. I focus on mind, body, and spirit and tailor it to each one of my patients’ values. No one pill fits all. We are all organic beings. Education and liberation are key to good mental health and quality of life.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced?
Psychiatrist is a very challenging feel as it is the one field that can make or break your life. Most homeless individuals have a downward drift with worsening mental illness. A high percentage of disabled individuals have mental health illness. Struggles and insight can lead you to a path of liberation and wisdom. The biggest problems are stigma, self-sabotage, and lack of awareness. I strongly emphasize teaching my patients basic principles because non-compliance with these patients is enormous. But you can break through with trust and effort.

Thanks for sharing that. Please tell us more about your business.
One Life Psychiatry is a holistic approach to mental health through the use of medication, therapy, and alternative remedies. Part of the process is to help educate and empower patients to find the best treatment plan custom-tailored for their needs. From a young age, with a father who had Bipolar Disorder, I was always fascinated with the complexity of the mind through a process cause root cause analysis.

Child Psychiatrist /Adult Psychiatrist
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a medical subspecialty of psychiatry that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses in children, adolescents, and their families. It addresses a wide range of mental health issues, including mood disorders, behavioral problems, anxiety disorders, developmental disorders (such as autism spectrum disorder), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, and others.

Child and adolescent psychiatrists treat a wide variety of mental health issues. These can range greatly in severity and impact on a child’s or adolescent’s life and development. The following is an overview of some of the common conditions that child and adolescent psychiatrists frequently treat.

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Depressive Disorders
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • Personality Disorders
  • Schizophrenia and Psychotic Disorders

I pride myself on each patient taking ownership and guidance to self-care and overcoming their issues. I am here for knowledge and advice with 10 years of experience. I also have a vast knowledge of psychology, which is the root of treatment. I built my brand 100%, and it represents my journey. I dedicated to my dad, who had Bipolar Disorder. As a psychiatrist, I don’t cut corners, take a lot of brands in diagnosis, and minimize high side effect meds. I take more insurance. I offer medication management, complete therapy, or meds/therapy. I even add alternative medicines. One life is living the most genuine, authentic life you can while finding your true self.

What’s next?
I plan on eventually starting a nonprofit for all uninsured patients and providing additional programs, such as group therapy, art therapy, etc. I will hand-select quality therapists and other doctors with the same vision. I want to create an influential, efficient Nonprofit where everyone is offered the highest quality of care.
